Floor coatings can be made anti-slip by scattering in sparsely sharp aggregate. Another method is to completely cover the surface with silica sand or calcined bauxite and if required apply a sealing coat to provide a surface which is non-slip but easily cleaned. An alternative has been to add a coarse aggregate such as silica sand to the coating before application. If this is done during manufacture the aggregate tends to settle and is difficult to stir up and must be kept stirred during application. It is possible to add the aggregate on site but this gives the product poor application properties.
We have now produced an aggregate which although coarse in texture has a low specific gravity and does not settle out significantly on storage and during application.
All our solvent based and water based products are available with this option and there is fine and coarse aggregate according to the texture required.
The addition does not add significantly to the price and application properties are good.
This is a big step forward in proving an anti-slip coating, which is easy and economical to use.
We are now able to produce most of our coatings in a grade with a luminous pigment. This gives a product, which glows in the dark. Demarcation lines can be painted and also with a stencil footmarks which lead to an exit.
The products are semi transparent and for best results they are applied over a white background.
